WELCOME TO THE JAMNICZKY LAB AT THE UNIVERSITY OF  CALGARY

We are evolutionary biologists interested in complex phenotypes, and educators interested in spatial learning.

We are committed to uplifting and centering diverse voices, especially those that are historically underrepresented in postsecondary environments. We actively and explicitly seek to improve equity and inclusivity in all aspects of our work. We believe that diversity is strength, and we strive to create safe and supportive environments for all in teaching, learning, and research environments, at the University of Calgary and beyond.

In the spirit of reconciliation, we respectfully acknowledge that the University of Calgary is located on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We also respectfully acknowledge that much of our fieldwork takes place on the Treaty lands and traditional territory of the Huu-Ay-Aht First Nations.
